Dr. Rick Schulze, Professor, Department of Biological and Health Sciences, Commonwealth University-Lock Haven; Chloe Crabb, Early Intervention Specialist, AIDS Resource and AR Health; and Michael Zimmerman, MSW Intern, AIDS Resource, presented Rural HIV Prevention and Outreach Strategies: Successes and Challenges at the 2025 PA Community and Public Health Conference, sponsored by the PA Office of Rural Health and PA Public Health Association at the Penn Stater Hotel and Conference Center on April 15.
The conference brings together public and social service professionals from throughout the state to learn about major public health issues. The presenters discussed their outreach efforts in rural Pennsylvania and how marginalized communities of color and sexual minorities have to overcome bias and stigma. AIDS Resource and AR Health serve 11 northcentral Pennsylvania counties and staff offices in Williamsport and State College. AR Health offers clinical primary care services for LGBTQ people at both clinic sites. Dr. Schulze serves as President, Board of Directors, AIDS Resource and AR Health.
